So I was reading my sister-in-laws blog about how big a handful her little austin is! and it just reminded me about all the things I went through and are still going through with our little handful! it must be the Ipson genes! haha.

So here we go...... some of my favorite of Mikettas Mishaps

Throwing mommys keys in the toilet

loosing the remote control in the closet, it took 2 weeks and a closet makeover to find it!

breaking off all the "childproof" locks on the doors and cabinents

dumping Mylicon all over the bed and smearing it on the wall

giving her a box of nerds to play with thinking she couldnt get it open. haha

getting the egg carton box out of the garbage and dumping the shells on the floor and stomping all over them.

So, Halloween was a blast! I think its Mikettas new favorite holiday! we get to be whatever we want to be and we get free candy! woo hoo! She dressed up as Cinderella her favorite princess and looked beautiful! both of our families live here in st. george so we had a lot of people to go see! Miketta's little friend Tyler came over to see her he was dressed as a knight so we got some adorable pictures of them together. Miketta likes to lay down and pretend she is a sleeping princess and the prince has to come kiss her and wake her up! so we got some pictures of that. They are so cute together!

We also had gone to the Stahlie family corn maze 2 weeks ago, I sang for a group of foreign exchange students it was a blast :) Ketta took a ride on the tractor train thingy they have and she was the only one on it so the driver went pretty fast and got mud all over her we were laughing so hard she was pretty upset about it! anyway we are having a blast and we have a busy month a head of us! my mom and dad's anniversary was on Nov. 2nd, my sisters birthday is today the 8th my brothers is on the 16th, bretts is on the 20th and mine on the 29th. so I have a great excuse for eating cake and ice cream every week this month! plus we have thanksgiving so our fun busy month is just beginning!

So Brett and I both drew out for the deer hunt this year! we were so excited to go, last week we went up on beaver mountain, We stayed with our friends Jared and Ashley Moss who are amazing friends, Jared had done a lot of scouting for us and we owe a lot to him for our success! we went out all day saturday and had no luck, so Brett and I were driving home Sunday morning, I had to get back to sing in church, and we were watching for deer just off the side of the road, and we saw a little 2 point, he wasnt what I was looking for exactly, but I got buck fever and shot. So we barely got home in time for me to get a quick shower and get dressed to go to church! haha, I know we're bad! anyway Brett went back up to beaver tuesday night and him and Jared hiked clear back in the boonies and Brett got a big 3 by 4. Shooting it was the exciting part then came the work, he got altitude sickness while he was up there so that didnt make it any easier, they packed out the deer and it took them about 5 hours to get off the mountain! We 're grateful to have the meat and glad that we both filled our tags, so yup good times! heres some pics! try not to laugh at my little buck!

our crazy summer!

ok, so I promised an update on American Idol, so I went and auditioned and made it past the first round which was awesome!! they only chose 215 people out of 6,000 so it was a miracle in itself that I made it even that far then we had to wait a couple of weeks to go back so we had 2 more auditions to get through before you go to Paula, randy and simon. So I made it past the 2nd audition and was the very first to audition for the 3rd round which was a big deal, you sing a lot longer than the first 2 auditons and your in the big room with the American Idol backdrop you see on t.v. so I go into the room all sorts of excited, (I mean wouldn't you be too?) and I sing and talk with the Exc. producers and they totally seemed to like me we were joking about the funniest stuff, anyway they said they loved my personality and look but that my voice just wasnt unique enough, so it was a no I was pretty bummed but I was so glad that I did it and so thankful that I made it through that far. I learned a lot and we will see where I am next year I may just try it again. Thats my exciting stuff of the summer. Brett has been crazy busy working but also crazy busy hunting he got back into bow hunting this year which has been so fun for him he has missed doing stuff like that and I am glad he got the opportunity this year for antlerless elk, he had a couple shots but missed, I had no idea bow hunting was so hard! hopefully next year I will have my own bow and be able to go too, thats the plan! Ketta has been my little busy body as always, she dosent let the boys push her around! there is a boy in her nursery his mom asked him if he was excited to go to nursery and play with Miketta and he said "no she's dangerous!" haha. She just wouldnt let him push her around! we got a kick out of that! she has had a habit of sticking things up her nose lately, the other day I was walking her in the stroller and she was eating those colored gold fish anyway she stuck a green one up her nose and when we got to the park I go to get her out of the stroller and she says "mommy get the gold fishy out of my nose." so we turned around and headed for home to try to get the gold fishy out! ketta also got to go to the 2nd audition of A.I. and everybody LOVED her there, I think they were more into her than me. she was so funny she would just spontaneously yell american idol yay!!! she won over everybody, she kept saying mom I am on t.v. on american idol! oh boy here we go! anyway we have been a busy, but happy bunch! we are excited that the weather is finally cooling down its beautiful here this time of year! and duck hunting season has officially started if you can't get a hold of us its probably because we are out hunting! haha. loves to all!

upcoming events!!

I am so excited for the upcoming weeks, we have a lot going on! first off we have our annual Pedersen family reunion, I always look forward to it, we dont stay in touch with my extended family as much as we should! its up in salt lake at my grandpa Pedersens house this year, should be just good ol fashioned family fun! we are also going to try to take Miketta to the Hogal Zoo I loved that zoo when I was little I cant wait to see her reactions!! and Last but not least for the month of july, I am going to audition for American Idol! I am so excited to finally experience auditions! I have heard a lot of negative feedback about auditions but I am doing my best to stay postitve about them, after all you never know until you try and I am going to do just that! I have been planning to audition all year long, and it just so happened that the auditions were in salt lake this year about the same time as the reunion, so things have just worked out perfectly, I am so excited!!! I will post when auditions are over and let you know how things went!

SHOWDOWN!

So the annual Colgate Country Showdown is here again, it just wouldn't be the fourth of july without it, I have been doing this competition for several years and I always look forward to it and I always love it!!! so the preliminarys are this monday June 16th at 5 p.m. from what I understand they are only taking 6 finalists to perform on the fourth instead of 8 this year! so keep your fingers crossed for me!! I hope I make it this year!

The old Barn

Last week we went to Junction, Bretts Family has an old barn that needed to come down. The only thing that was holding it up was a telephone pole, if something wasnt done soon it would have fallen in the neighbors yard! So we went up and took care of it, here are some pictures of the barn, Brett was pretty sad about it coming down he had a lot of great memories with his Grandpa Ipson in that barn, but it had to be done! So we are glad that its taken care of and nobody got hurt in the process! in the pictures you can see how bad it was leaning, it was also a good opportunity for me to take pictures of ketta! it was a lot of work but we had a great time!

About Us!

okey dokey here we go, I just jumped on the blogging bandwagon, so lets see how this thing goes, a little bit about us, Me and my husband Brett have been married for 4 and a half years, we have a GORGEOUS Daughter named Mikettalyn, she will be 3 in september and keeps me plenty busy, Its amazing that I even have time to sit here and type this! We LOVE living in St. George, Brett works for a fantastic company he is the equipment Manager for Allied Pacific Landscaping, and loves his job. I stay at home with our little Ketta kat, but I do get out every once in a while to go do what I love and that is performing, I will sing for you anytime, anywhere. We love to go camping, fishing, hunting. All that fun outdoors stuff, anyway that is us in a nutshell, happy reading!
